Other than removing diseased foliage (and it can be pinched off, you don't need a pruner) you really don't need to prune beans or cukes. With tomatoes, remove the suckers (those are the little branches that grow in the crotch of bigger branches) for larger fruit.

For rabbits, I've heard that scattering dog hair in the garden keeps them away. I've also heard peeing around the perimeter will also work, but I have not ever tried these. The bunnies tend to stay out, I think they have enough clover in the lawn to eat. You can also get predator urine (fox, wolf) through hunting supply firms.

For tomatoes, I use stakes, tie the stems to the stakes, and tie more as they grow.

Thomas asks…

What does this "indeterminant" mean?

I read below article on some web site. But I could not find and guess the meaning of "indeterminant".
Please tell me your opinion.

For indeterminant varieties, build a trellis structure or use a tall bamboo teepee to which you can tie the growing vines. Tomato cages may not be big enough. Bushy varieties do fine with tomato cages.

An indeterminant tomato is one which continues to bear fruit throughout the growing season, with the plant growing taller as the season goes on. A determinate tomato grows to a fixed mature size and ripens all its fruit in a short period, usually about 2 weeks..

Tomato Harvests?

I have 4 tomato plants in my backyard and have about 10 tomatoes total so far with many more budding every day. How many times per year does a tomato plant harvest? Do they grow continuously or only once per year?
Also, one of the info packets on my tomato plant said this particular would grow to only 3', yet it is well over this and my trellis is lost in the branches. It is growing beyond belief and not stopping. I know I can't remove the trellis now, so how do I manage the branches to stop them from growing outward so much?
Thank you for the advice!

The plant that was to grow to 3' tall will be okay.

Some people cut back the main stem/middle stem to keep it from growing taller and making more branches.

Congratulations on a good crop. You are doing everything right. :o)
